Back, and then some..
Well despite some sore teeth (a few coming in), Jack is back in action.
He is eating more than he ever has - by far. Yesterday I think he ate about 6 meals... Today he has already eaten 2 waffles, 2 scrambled eggs, a little cheese, a serving of veggies, 2 servings of grapes, a serving of blueberries, a few crackers and about 1/3 of an avocado. This is all in 4 hours he has been awake.
At this rate I think he will be just fine at his weight check in a month:)

Eventful (in a bad way) Few Days
All seems much, much better now, but Jack was in the hospital the last few days:(
Jack was sick to his stomach and couldn't eat or keep anything down from Friday morning on - so he became badly dehydrated. Monday morning was his (un)well 18 month check-up where the pedi said he was borderline in need to go to the hospital. He was down below his 12 month weight (eek) but she said if he didn't through up that day we probably could avoid the hospital - well unfortunately at about 1 he did through up so off we went to the ER. They admitted him based on his bloodwork (low CO2 and blood sugar) and kept him on lots of IV fluids. He still wasn't able to keep anything down the next day (Tues) so we had to stay another night. By Tuesday evening he seemed a bit better and Wednesday morning even better than that - though he was still very lethargic and eating/drinking very very little.
The hospital pediatricians were a little freaked out for awhile that he was *only* throwing up and didn't have any fever or diarrhea. So he ended up with a carbon monoxide test and an X-ray of his intestines (both normal) to rule out things besides just a stomach bug. His own pedi. thought this all sort of odd as she says she is pretty much only seeing kids with similar symptoms as Jack!
All in all it was as ok a hospital experience as one can have. The people were all efficient and caring.
Probably because of the time of year, but Jack had his own little Christmas at the hospital! Jack got 2 visits from Santa, 4 stuffed animals (one hand made!), a big garbage truck (his favorite), 2 things of crayons, markers, coloring books, a fleece blanket (handmade), a slinky, and some other things I forgot!!! This is in addition to the myriad of toys/books/dvds (by request!) that they have to play with that the hospital owns...
He seems great today - eating a ton! Hopefully he will catch back up in terms of weight soon!

A Few of My Favorite Things..
Trucks & Phones
Jack is obsessed with trucks. It is almost literally the first noise I hear from him in the morning (on the monitor!) and the last thing before he falls asleep. (He has books in the crib that have trucks in them, so he isn't necessarily randomly saying it.) He is now very into letting me read him books, which is great, but he only will sit through ones with trucks in them.
A friend recommended youtube for videos of construction equipment - as you can see from the pictures, this was a big hit.
He also often has a phone (or a bookmark or a random kitchen item)
next to his ear and blabs into it. It is pretty funny as I really do not spend much time on the phone at all!
