Our Summer Vacation (to MI)

Jack had a ball playing with cousin Robby, riding the train in Traverse City with Grandpa Pete, and "driving" Pa's boat (Steve was just out of the frame, as one can imagine). Nate enjoyed being up close with Grandma, Grandpa, GG Ceelee and Aunt Nancy among others!

One of the last classes..

Jack has been taking classes at the same center since he was about 4 weeks old. He only has one more to go before he starts the toddler class at his preschool.

Here he is with some kids painting - but not the normal way. They gave the kids frozen paint to push around on the paper. It was quite interesting texturally -it was a bit like a cold crayon at the beginning, but as it melted it became almost like watercolors.

We are getting ready for the transition with a new backpack (not entirely sure he needs it, but it is darn cute!) and a new lunchbox (which he does need). Clearlry he will be wearing more than a diaper when he goes to school.

Busy Week

We have had a busy week. Last Sunday we had visitors - my (Lauren's) Aunt Debbie, cousin Allie and Grandma Sue.

Then Nate, Jack and I were in Dennisport (Cape Cod) for a few days visiting with my mom and stepdad Rick. Jack learned to say "rick" while we were there and didn't shut up about it. It was quite amusing - he wanted Rick to do everything with him.

Nate has started smiling at people quite a bit and even makes cute happy noises.

Yesterday we had some friends (Jay, Laura & Colin) come visit as well.

This week will be interesting - we have to pack for a week in Michigan AND empty the dining room and living room for the plasterers. They are coming to replace the ceilings in those rooms on Thursday. Eek..

1 month old, bottles and other updates!

For the last week, Steve has been giving Nate a nightly bottle. He has taken to it easily without the slightest issue so far. We are trying to be consistent and give it EVERY night. With Jack we would go so long between bottles that he pretty much gave up taking them.

Nate is officially 1 month old. To celebrate, last night he slept from 10:30-7:30!!!! Yay Nate! His "standard" is 10:30 then up at 4, 6, and 8 to eat. Even that isn't bad but 9 hours was even better:) He also likes high-contrast toys (black, white, red) and being in the sling or other carrier. I wouldn't go so far as to say he likes tummy time, but he tolerates it quite well, for quite awhile (maybe 10 minutes?). This is pretty rare from what I can gather. He also has turned his head from one side to the other on his tummy.

2 little monkeys

Weird Kid

Yes, that is a tomato. I guess he wants to eat it like the fruit that it is...
