Zoo!

Still catching up -

Jack and I, one especially nice day earlier this month, took a trip to our local zoo. He enjoyed the bears - especially since he was out of the stroller for that part. They were pretty energetic, playing and wrestling.

I had much better photos on my real camera - but we still haven't gotten my hard drive in, so no room to download them yet.

Some "light" reading at lunch..

They say kids mimic you, well Jack has taken to stealing my Economist at lunchtime. Somehow he manages to find firetrucks and airplanes in it!

Birthday!

A few weeks ago we went to CT to celebrate Grandpa Bills 60th birthday! A lot of fun was had by all and Jack very much enjoyed the abundance of sweets.

He was missing naptime (whatever that is) at this point:)

Jack LOVES baloons. Trips to trader joe's (where they have free ones for kids) are a big hit too..

Catching up- Trains!

A few weekends ago we met up with Grandpa Pete and Great Uncle Matt at the Amherst Railroad Society train show at the "Big E" in Springfield. Jack very much enjoyed looking at the trains and really liked if Thomas was involved:)

Early Decision

Ok, not quite, but Jack did get his first preschool acceptance letter on Saturday - kind of scary they come before college acceptance letters would. I suppose that the college admission officers would argue they have more applications and more information to sort;/ Basically what this means is I was early in applying as admission is first come/first serve after families of current siblings. The acceptance came from our first choice school (of 2:) and so unless something changes dramatically he will be going Tues and Fridays starting in early Sept from 8:30-12:30. It is really just a big playdate with educated leaders. There are 2 teachers per 9 kids. The standard schedule is as follows:

8:30 - 9:45 - art/free play
9:45 - 10:00 - clean up/wash hands
10 - 10:30 - snack time
10:30 - 11:30 - outdoors play
11:20-11:45 - circle time/calendar
11:45 - 11:55 - bathroom/wash hands (they do change diapers at other times if needed;/)
11:55 - 12:20 - lunch
12:20 - 12:30 - story/dismissal

There are regular musical acts and puppets shows too...

They also offer an "extended day" until 3:00. Jack won't be part of that, but the nice thing is that it can be done occasionally. So if I have an appointment or similar, I can arrange for care until 3:00.

The big advantage of sending him at 2 and not 2.9 which is standard) is I will have some time alone with #2 - and maybe even time to get a nap in while he is sleeping:) I also won't have to stress about the real preschool rush next year with many of Jack's friends.

If anyone is interested the school has a website, which I won't post publicly. However I am happy to email to those intrigued...

Climbing Frenzy...

About 2 weeks ago I finally put together Jack's "big" gift from Grandpa and Nonnie and it is fantastic and he loves it. As it is so big, even though it folds flat, it only comes out on occasion. In the spring we can bring it to the back yard!

It's a Boy!

I had an ultrasound this morning and all looked ok. Jack is going to have a little brother! No doubt from what we saw...
