Jack is obsessed with trucks. It is almost literally the first noise I hear from him in the morning (on the monitor!) and the last thing before he falls asleep. (He has books in the crib that have trucks in them, so he isn't necessarily randomly saying it.) He is now very into letting me read him books, which is great, but he only will sit through ones with trucks in them.
A friend recommended youtube for videos of construction equipment - as you can see from the pictures, this was a big hit.
He also often has a phone (or a bookmark or a random kitchen item)
next to his ear and blabs into it. It is pretty funny as I really do not spend much time on the phone at all!

Jack needs to spend a few minutes on one of my dad's job site! If we are ever actually in Watertown when he's working nearby, we should take Jack to visit so he can "operate" a machine.
Despite some "inherited interests" how will he/we deal with post-hydrocarbon world
