Jack also had his last "real" day at his preschool yesterday. He will be there for 2 weeks over the summer for camp, but the classmates/teachers won't be the same.
For those that don't know, he will be attending a new school in the fall that is PreK (last year of preschool) to grade 8. Jack seemed a bit sentimental both to me and his teacher at school. He asked his current teacher if he could take the picture he normally puts on the door when he is in class home, so he can bring it to his new school. He seems excited about the change, but he also understands his preschool friends aren't going with him. Luckily he seems to trust our judgment (hopefully with good reason!). He has a jam-packed July and busy August so he won't have much time to dwell on the past.
Summer is officially here and the boys and I made our first (of many I hope) visit to our local swimming area. It is a closed off (mildly chlorinated) area of a reservoir. There is also a large sandy beach, changing rooms and a nice play area. The boys had a fabulous time and were (generally) good at listening to me. There are lifeguards around, but it is a busy place so it is stressful for me to keep an eye on both them. Hopefully I can get pictures from there sometime soon. I really feel like a local now, I ran into 4 families I knew!
