The fasted way around the cape...
Is an ambulance ride (also the quickest way to Boston!) we should know..You likely will be be able to see that Jack's humerous is not where it is supposed to (attached to his elbow)..
He fell walking up stairs to a slide at the playground in the prior post. Still not sure how he managed that.
He had surgery at Boston children's Thursday night and is recovering well... We made it home early Friday afternoon. I don't think there will be lasting issues at this point but nerve issues are possible.
Jack was a trooper- everyone was amazed by his attitude and politeness.. We even have an invitation to visit the Dennis fire department for a tour and a ride in a fire truck when he is better!
The surgeon came by this morning and asked if he had questions and he said "no, I just want to thank you for fixing my bones.". He also told the children's staff to make sure to give us the back the air cast he came in with since it was the Dennis fire departments. He said we needed to return it to the FD when we visited them!

Nate's Birthday, part II
Nate had a "lego city" theme and just family on his birthday. We are working on a birthday playdate with a school friend. If you click on the cake lighting and you can see his cake is really 4 "legos." He opened more presents at night. As you can tell, he LOVES cake. I am using a wonderful new mix from the gluten-free line of King Arthur Flour. *Great* mixes. I have been impressed by all of them (though the brownies are so-so, but I am think they may be impossible to make without real eggs.)

Nate has already opened some of his presents and then headed off to "camp" at his preschool. More pics (including lego cake:) to come tomorrow...(we will do singing/cake tonight).

A not "common" fathers day!
Sunday we spent the morning at the Boston Common and public gardens. The boys loved the carousel but seemed rather unimpressed by the famous Swan boats. We then had lunch in a "Irish" pub nearby.

Hank the tank!
A couple if weekends ago we were in CT to visit with my stepbrother who was home on leave from Afghanistan. We had a lovely time with him and celebrating lots of birthdays. Our trip also happily coincided with a visiting steam engine (hank) in nearby thomaston. We had a nice ride.
