Jack asked to hold Nate and actually didn't want to let go of him!

Truck Day!
Steve and Jack went to Truck Day in a neighboring town. Jack got to see and touch a firetruck, a town cherry picker, a sewer cleaning truck (?!) and a police car. Surprisingly he wasn't as excited as one might think - Steve said he was pretty cranky. However, he seemed excited about it when he got home. I think he takes after Grandma Linda and didn't like the hot weather.
Here he is in the police car! Let's hope he never ends up in the back of one again:)

Here he is "driving" the cherry picker.

New ride!
We just took a walk around the neighborhood in the new stroller. It
handles very well considering its size.

Fluke?! (I hope...)
Nate has been consistently rolling to his side in the pack n play- like this:

But I am not ready for rolling over yet!! (he really did this on his own).
I have a vague recollection that Jack may have done this a few times early on before he could "really" roll over.

Nate is almost to his birth weight - yesterday mid-day he was 9lbs 3oz, so he is apparently eating just fine!

More Nate Pictures
All is going well here with Jack and Nate. Jack has taken to his new brother as well as can be expected - a few meltdowns, but overall is more or less ignoring the baby. He has his adorable moments of bringing his hat, blanket or toys to Nate though.
Nate seems to be doing well - he is eating, peeing and pooping. He is definitely more into sucking than Jack was - he loves to suck fingers/arms anything he can get his hand on, even if he just ate. He is a bit jaundiced - very common. Both the doctor on Saturday and our neighbor (a pediatrician) both said it looks fine though. Nate also is more of a "lap baby" as a friend of mine calls them . He really really wants to be held all the time. Jack was pretty content to be put down (at least temporarily). We have been taking turns sleeping with him in our arms. Hopefully this is just a phase. I can't complain about a 3 day old's sleep patterns!
We have had some visitors so far - both Grandmas were around for the birth and our coming home. Incidentally we actually departed the hospital early. We were slated for leaving Saturday morning, but instead left Friday afternoon. I was feeling well, Nate was doing well and Steve and I both thought we would sleep better at home. The hospital was rather boring;/ We still think we made the right decision. Nate got to meet his Uncle Andy and Aunt Katie today along with his Grandpa Pete. Later in the week should be the rest of the CT family, including Grandpa Bill/Nonnie, (hope you all are feeling better!)

Drumlin Farm
We spent the morning at Drumlin Farm - a working farm and wildlife preserver about 20 minutes away. I had been meaning to bring Jack for a long time, but we needed the push by a visiting college friend of Steve's to make it happen. We visited with her, her husband and their 3 year-old as well as with 2 of her friends plus their families. (One had a barely 2 year old girl and 9 month old twin boys. They had their hands full as you can imagine!).
Jack thought the hay ride was by far the best thing. In this he takes after his mom - she always liked that part of camp. Steve was thanking heaven for Claritin, on the other hand:) He also liked playing on the old tractor, seeing the cows, pigs, birds and chickens. We will back again soon I am sure. It is stroller friendly, so bringing baby #2 should be easy enough.
