9 Months
a day late - oops
So here is our monthly update!
~ He waves hello and good bye to strangers at times, but not to us! If we are at the mall or in a store he usually does it.
~ He is desperate to get crawling forward. He goes backwards quite quickly and rolls all over the place. He can get across a room quite quickly. He also loves to be standing and is getting to be quite the daredevil, wanting to let go of my hands! He, today, stood for a good 3-4 seconds on his own. Doesn't sound like long, but it looks surreal to our eyes.
~ If he is awake in his crib he is constantly rolling and getting on all fours.
~ He has finally eaten something hard - a couple of Gerber puffs (kind of like puffy cereal) yesterday. I can't say he liked it much. He, up until then, refused to put cheerios or puffs in his mouth. However his fine motor skills are much better, as he can pick them up relatively well and throw them on the floor with great skill. Generally, though, he isn't that excited about real food. He will eat it if he is feeling well, but certainly isn't thrilled about it.
~ He wants more attention lately. If I avert my eyes from him for any length of time he starts getting annoyed and making noise.
~ His nighttime sleeping is better in the last 10 days or so. He has been only getting up 1-3 times. If it is 3, one is before we go to bed.
~ He has his 9 month Dr.'s appt on the 24th so I will have official size stats then. Overall I think he had a recent growth spurt, but his weight has been pretty slow in growing lately. This is pretty normal for a breastfed baby from what I gather.
~ His second tooth has popped out.

Ok, NOW he is better
Jack is finally nearly back to normal after a lingering virus. He is still taking extra-long naps (yay!) and has a super runny nose, but he seems to be in normal spirits and no longer has a fever or extra liquids (ewww) leaving his body.
As promised, here are all the best pictures from our trip. Later in the week we will get the 9 month update!

Feeling better (I hope!)
We all got colds in Florida and upon our return Jack got as sick as we had seen him (thus the very short blog posts). He had a fever (we saw it hit 103!) had a trip to the doctor and his first GI issues (thankfully short - I will save you the details). However, he seems to be on the mend this morning. He has no fever, slept well overnight (thank heaven!) and seems to be just stuffy. All of this made me love our pediatrician's office even more. They are so responsive and reassuring. We recently learned our pediatrician is leaving the practice (of 4) and opening her own down the street. We are following her but will miss the comfort of having 3 other nice doctors ready to help us. She is keeping one of the nicest things of the old practice - open hours from 8-8:45 for sick kids. Also making the transition easy, all scheduled appointments remain the same.

Back and Bronzed
Ok, I am a little bronzed but of course Jack is not. He was slathered in a ton of sunscreen each time we were outside during our vacation to Florida. Luckily, our longest outdoor venture was the coolest day we were there so Jack could be comfortably covered up - 60 and and not a cloud in the sky. Perfect for a ballgame....
Here are pictures from Jack's first baseball game - well, if you can call it that. 24-0 in 7 innings is not exactly much of a game! And, technically, it was an exhibition since it was against BC. Regardless it was the very first spring training outing for the Sox and lots of fun for us! Hopefully we have some pictures in the stands from Anne and Ann coming.
We even got our picture taken with the 2004 and 2007 World Series trophies.
Pictures of things like, oh, the beach and the pool are to come:) For most people reading this blog I thought these pictures would be the most important anyway!
